This is simply fantastic.
YouTube is mostly a cesspool of useless nonsense and hateful polemics, but once in a while you find something that not only restores your faith in the platform, but reminds you how wonderfully creative some people can be and how, without platforms like YouTube, they would not have had the opportunity to show off their skills.
This trailer, which has been on YouTube since 2011 and was the final basic editing project completed at Emerson College by the uploader, Groganation, imagines Ferris Bueller’s Day Off as the story of popular young man with his whole life ahead of him…until his kidneys begin to fail.
It’s touching and powerful, quite a feat for (a) a trailer and (b) a film that is actually a comedy.
