Anfernee “Penny” Hardaway was a prototype for the NBA superstar of the ’90s. He was a combination of Magic – a tall point guard with vision who could handle the rock – and Michael – he could drive the lane and throw it down over you.
Simply put, he “was a phenomenon on the court” with funny commercials, amazing kicks, and a team that looked like it would rule the future.
Of course, injuries derailed his career and Shaq bounced to L.A., but for a brieft moment, Penny Hardaway was the future of the NBA.
