Rap Alfred Hitchcock

“Only Christopher we acknowledge is Wallace”

Magna Carta Holy Grail is far from peak Jay-Z, but the man’s words still hold weight as evidenced by a Twitter trending topic that popped up on Monday, Columbus Day. In response to the celebration of holiday named for a man that claimed to “discover” a land that was inhabited by millions of people – and had already been “discovered” by vikings – before then slaughtering those people (after calling them the wrong name), multiple people online began quoting Jay’s line from “Oceans.”

I could’ve picked any photo of The Notorious One, but I chose this one because I find it to be brilliant. In addition to illustrating his own boast that he was the “rap Alfred Hitchcock,” it’s just a beautiful homage. It’s been 18 years since B.I.G.’s death and he still looms large over the hip-hop landscape.
